Among the diseases most common in the Republic of Belarus, as well as in other countries, musculoskeletal disorders are quite prominent. Unfortunately, today we most often have to talk about arthrosis, which can lead to disability. To avoid this, modern medicine has developed a number of alternative methods to combat this ailment, among which the most effective is endoprosthesis replacement of the hip, knee joint, and hand joints.
Arthrosis as it is….
Arthrosis is a degenerative-inflammatory process that directly changes the joint. Arthrosis can affect almost any joint. The causes of arthrosis are quite diverse. The disease can be triggered by injuries, heavy physical exertion, and even poor environmental conditions in the region. Nevertheless, with such a wide scope of this disease, three types of arthrosis are most common:
- hip arthrosis or coxarthrosis,
- knee arthrosis or gonarthrosis
- hand joint arthrosis.

In this disease, the cartilage tissue of the affected joint changes mainly, which, in fact, leads to further joint changes. Cartilage tissue has some ability to regenerate, but in general, the process of joint change and degeneration is irreversible.
About methods of treatment and prevention of arthrosis
Speaking about arthrosis of the hip, knee joints, and hand joints, one can repeatedly refer to various methods of its treatment and prevention. The affected joint should be provided with maximum rest, take chondroprotectors, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and analgesics, engage in physical therapy, undergo physiotherapeutic procedures, etc. But, not to dispel meaningless hopes for a complete cure, it is worth noting that all methods of treatment and prevention only slow down the course of the disease.
Surgical intervention. Endoprosthesis replacement of the hip, knee joint, hand joints.

For any disease, the key to successful recovery is sincere faith in that very recovery. Patients with arthrosis should not lose hope for recovery and return to a normal lifestyle, especially since there is a radical method of treating this disease. Its essence lies in surgical intervention aimed at replacing the affected joint with an artificial one (endoprosthesis). Such an operation once and for all relieves the patient of joint problems, since the artificial joint (endoprosthesis) is maximally resistant to wear and damaging effects. Considering these three areas of arthrosis, specialists of the 6th City Clinical Hospital proposed a separate program for targeted treatment of coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis and hand joint arthrosis – endoprosthesis replacement of the hip, knee joints and hand joints.
