Paid medical services are provided on the basis of:
- Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 18.06.1993 N 2435-XII "On Healthcare" (hereinafter - the Healthcare Law);
- Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated 10.02.2009 No. 182 "On the provision of paid medical services by state healthcare institutions"

A medical service is a medical intervention or a set of medical interventions, as well as other actions performed in the provision of medical care (para. 13 part 1 art. 1 of the Healthcare Law).
Paid medical services are provided on the basis of written contracts for compensated medical services, except for paid medical services provided anonymously (clause 2 of the Regulations on the procedure for providing paid medical services to citizens of the Republic of Belarus by state healthcare institutions, approved by Resolution No. 182 (hereinafter - Regulations on the procedure for providing paid medical services)).
Paid medical services provided by state medical institutions are additional to the state-guaranteed free medical care. The List of paid medical services provided to citizens of the Republic of Belarus by state healthcare institutions is approved by Resolution No. 182 (hereinafter - the List of medical services) and includes, among others, services for the provision of medical care in state healthcare institutions to citizens insured under voluntary medical expense insurance contracts (clause 30 of the List of medical services). The approximate form of the contract for the provision of medical care to individuals insured under voluntary medical expense insurance contracts is approved by the Resolution of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus dated 09.06.2005 No. 73/13.
Paid medical care is provided at the expense of personal funds of citizens or funds of legal entities and other sources not prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus (para. 3 art. 4 of the Healthcare Law).

The medical service "Comprehensive maternity services with organization of round-the-clock care for the postpartum woman and newborn in an enhanced comfort ward" is provided in the enhanced comfort wards of the observation department of the "6th GKB" healthcare institution. The wards are located in a separate block of the observation department, have a separate street entrance, and are equipped with everything necessary for providing highly qualified specialized care to a pregnant woman, parturient woman, and her newborn child. The wards provide all conditions for the joint stay of the postpartum woman, newborn, and their relatives (family members), and meals are also provided (approximate cost of meals is 7 rubles per day).
Conclusion of a contract for the medical service "Comprehensive maternity services with organization of round-the-clock care for the postpartum woman and newborn in an enhanced comfort ward" is formalized from 36 weeks of pregnancy. The Deputy Chief Physician for Obstetrics and Gynecology (or acting) conducts an accessible conversation with the patient and her partner when concluding the contract, also discusses the peculiarities of the pregnancy, obstetric and somatic history, and analyzes the data from the exchange card. On the day of contract conclusion, 100% prepayment is made, after which the Deputy Chief Physician for Obstetrics and Gynecology endorses the pregnant woman's exchange card, and appoints an obstetrician-gynecologist with extensive experience for individual monitoring, delivery, and postpartum examination of the postpartum woman.
The medical service "Partner childbirth" is provided to couples upon presentation of a certificate of completion of the "Family Preparation for Partner Childbirth" courses. Provision of the medical service "Partner childbirth" allows the partner to be present in the prenatal ward, delivery room, and for 2 hours after childbirth. All necessary conditions are created in the wards for the patient and newborn.
Conclusion of a contract for the medical service "Partner childbirth" is formalized from 37 weeks of pregnancy. The Deputy Chief Physician for Obstetrics and Gynecology (or acting) conducts an accessible conversation with the patient and her partner when concluding the contract. On the day of contract conclusion, 100% prepayment is made, after which the Deputy Chief Physician for Obstetrics and Gynecology endorses the pregnant woman's exchange card.
