One of the most dangerous and threatening the consequences of increasing blood pressure is damage to the vessels of the brain. An attack of acute cerebrovascular accident is called a stroke. Due to the fact that in the conditions of stopping the flow of oxygen, brain cells die within five minutes, this condition refers to urgent and requires assistance as early as possible.
The main signs of stroke.
- A sharp headache.
- Nausea, vomiting.
- Sudden numbness of the face, numbness or weakness of the arm, leg, especially on one side of the body.
- An unexpected difficulty in speech or understanding of a simple speech.
- A sharp deterioration in vision, double in the eyes.
- A sudden violation of coordination of movements, loss of balance, dizziness.
If you are prone to increase blood pressure or you already have a diagnosis of arterial hypertension, and you felt one or more of these symptoms immediately: immediately:
- Tell others that you need help and ask for help;
- If possible, call an ambulance by calling 103.
If you help a person with signs of a stroke, then:
- The most important thing that needs to be done is to call an ambulance crew by phone 103. At the same time, exactly what the location of the victim is.
Remember a simple test that will help to recognize a stroke.
1. Ask a person to smile. With a stroke, he will not be able to do this. The corner of the mouth will be lowered.
- Speak with the victims and ask for the answer to the question "What is your name?" Usually, at the time of the brain disaster, a person cannot coherently pronounce even his name.
- Offer to raise both hands at the same time. As a rule, the victim will not cope with this task, since one side will be weakened.
Before the arrival of the ambulance team:
- Lay the victim on a flat surface so that the head and shoulders are in a slightly raised position;
- You can’t sharply move the victim or let go home if the stroke happened on the street;
- Tilt the head a little to the side;
- Remove tooth dentures from the victim, if any;
- Provide fresh air access;
- Free the victim from the crushing items of clothing;
- Stay with the victim until the arrival of ambulance.
