This medical method is both good and unique in that it allows for both diagnosis and surgical treatment if necessary in a single procedure. As is known, standard endoscopy, in any form, is quite uncomfortable and sometimes painful. Capsule endoscopy is completely painless and safe. It involves swallowing a special micro-video capsule equipped with a light source. The video capsule is so small that swallowing it is not a problem; it is simply washed down with water like a regular pill. Video information is transmitted via special sensors attached to the patient's waist. After the examination, which can last up to 10 hours, the capsule exits the body naturally. During the entire examination, the patient's lifestyle is no different from that of an ordinary person (sleeping, eating, etc.).
